Train to become a Lifeguard

Our pool is supervised by Life Guards at all times. All of our Life Guards are trained to NPLQ (National Pool Life Guard Qualification) standard, and are required to pass competency training which takes place monthly. We also have three internal NPLQ Assessors who undertake the assessment training. We take the issue of pool safety extremely seriously and always ensure we meet high standards of pool supervision. 

National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)

A nationally recognised lifeguard qualification for individuals over 16yrs.

Potential candidates MUST be able to swim 2 lengths (50m) in less than 60 seconds, and retrieve a manikin from the deepest part of the pool (3metres).

Next NPLQ course dates:

MONDAY 13TH - FRIDAY 17TH FEBRUARY, 9.00-5.00pm

EXAM - SAT 18TH FEBRUARY, time tbc

 

NPLQ courses run for 40 hours over five days during most school holidays at MONTEM LEISURE CENTRE

Cost of course is £250, including course manual and examination fees.
